Skellingthorpe, Upton, and Saxondale

WEDNESDAY 18th March

Skellingthorpe Old Wood 4.5 miles

Roy led a group of us for a walk in the glorious spring weather through Skellingthorpe woods. A delightful walk in great company.

Upton Averham 9 miles

Not a new walk, but one of Izzie’s favourites with good views and a (modest) number of contours to negotiate. There was a bit of mud in places and some quiet road walking and a busy road to cross.

SUNDAY 22nd March

Saxondale and Newton 5 miles

This was a short Sunday walk led by Maggie with just one stop for coffee / early lunch. Starting from the small village of Saxondale they visited old and new parts of Newton, including an RAF memorial.

Maggie advised; We had 15 walkers this morning on our walk, plus 3 dogs. We were pleased to welcome some members from other groups and some guests. We enjoyed perfect walking weather, and it is good that recent sun and wind have dried up most of the mud on the footpaths.
