Matlock Darley Bridge 5.1 miles
A return train ride to Matlock before taking a circular walk via Darley Bridge. Carol led this lovely walk which started and ended in the centre of the bustling town of Matlock. They very quickly reached the surrounding peaceful countryside. The route followed part of the White Peak Loop to reach the village of Darley Bridge then takes field paths and country lanes to Oker before following the Derwent Valley Heritage Way footpath back to Matlock. The route also crossed the Peak Rail heritage railway.

Hathersage and Stanage Edge 7.5 miles
Another visit to Derbyshire, this time led by Dave. The walk went from the bustling town of Hathersage onto Stanage Edge where there were spectacular views. The return was via North Lees (immortalised in Jane Eyre) and the alleged burial place of Little John. There was a long, steep ascent to Stanage Edge, which was taken SLOWLY, in order to fully appreciate the magnificent views. There was uneven terrain along Stanage Edge and on the initial descent.
