WEDNESDAY 22nd April
Woodborough Epperstone 7.4 miles
A favourite route this time led by Bob who left this report:
19 walkers started our walk from Woodborough Village Hall, picking up Dave Johnson later at Lowdham church! Bob welcomed guests Rachel Davies and Martyn Gill from Mansfield and Sherwood Ramblers, Karen D'Silva from Retford Ramblers and Carolyn Green who joined us with a view to joining Newark Ramblers. In ideal walking conditions we headed along a steep incline to Ploughman Wood and onward over fields, where we could see Belvoir Castle, to Lowdham. After an early coffee stop, lunch was taken at Lowdham Church. After lunch we walked to Epperstone, and our return to Woodborough over fields which were mainly without the water experienced on the recce!

SUNDAY 26th April
Elston 7.5 miles
Maggie led the walk and reported as follows:
We had 13 walkers today; we enjoyed good company and a pleasant walk in the sun, with stops in Sibthorpe and Syesrston. We walked for 7.5 miles, with the addition of an optional visit to the dovecote in Sibthorpe, which was new to most of the group.

WEDNESDAY 29th April
Nocton and Wasps Nest 6.5 miles
Thanks to Kay for leading the walk and sending her photos. She left me this report:
A small group of us enjoyed this lovely Lincolnshire walk around Nocton and Wasps Nest. The weather was beautiful with a fresh wind. Starting from Nocton we walked alongside a modern farm estate, a 17th century woodland and the Roman era Car Dyke. We enjoyed seeing lots of wild garlic and bluebells on our way to Wasps Nest. On the return towards Nocton we spotted a heron, red kite and buzzard as well as several new born lambs.

Skellingthorpe and Doddington 7.1 miles
Lynn and Nick took 17 Ramblers on a walk that can be found in the latest edition of the Ramblers magazine. Very much a walk of two halves, the first part being through Skellingthorpe Old Wood where the bluebells were at their best, and then to Doddington Hall along well made paths in much more open countryside. We made good time, so had an hour at Doddington Hall to enjoy the amenities before strolling back to Skellingthorpe. As always a very pleasant walk in lovely company.
