Hartsholme, Caunton and Clumber

SUNDAY 26th October

Hartsholme Park and Lincolnshire Transport Museum 4 miles

Carol led a short walk round Hartsholme Park before visiting the Lincolnshire Transport Museum Open Day. Plenty of old vehicles associated with the history of Lincolnshire transport to see with an opportunity to take a ride on a vintage bus.

WEDNESDAY 29th October

Caunton Norwell 6.5 miles

Another chance to walk this favourite route from Caunton. This time led by Paul and Rosemary. Starting from St. Andrews church they initially followed the pretty stream through the village before entering open country. The walk was mainly on field paths through a mix of arable fields and grassland. A couple of hills and small woods added to the variety of views, which included Lincoln Cathedral, clearly visible from the top of Bathley Hill

Clumber South Side 7 miles

Pauline H led a group of us on a delightful walk though the less well-known bits of Clumber Park. Even though it was half-term we saw few other walkers, just a lot of trees in their autumn finery, a variety of water birds and some long horned cattle. I found it to be one of the most photogenic walks I have been on this year. I particularly like the shot of the waterfall - remember to double click the pictures to see them full frame.
