WEDNESDAY 5th March

Over the Hill to Halam 6 miles

Roger reported:

A chilly but sunny morning which soon warmed up into a lovely day. Twelve of us left Southwell along the Westhorpe Dumble to the bottom of Cundy Hill. We continued via Leechcroft Hill and Saversick Lane to the 12th century St Michael the Archangel Church in Halam for a coffee stop. Then a loop around and above Halam with a few pesky stiles. We passed a field of newborn lambs before returning over the hill back into Southwell.

Lambley Dumbles 7 miles

Thanks to Bob for this walk. He reported:

16 Ramblers left Gedling Country Park for a 7 mile walk in perfect walking weather and headed down through Lambley Dumbles into the village of Lambley, which dates back to the Domesday Book of 1086. From there we walked through fields to Stockhill Farm where a coffee break was taken overlooking Burton Joyce. Onwards along a Bridleway and returning into Gedling Country Park for a circular walk stopping at the original colliery headstocks for our lunch break
