Above and around Cotgrave Country Park 8.5 miles
Another pleasant walk in the area around Cotgrave Country Park. Dave led this Sunday Walk which included parkland, woodland, fields, a village, a canal, a lake, and some hills. The majority of paths were good, and ideal for Winter rambling. There were good views of the Trent Valley and Nottingham city centre. The once pit village of Cotgrave is ever expanding with housing development on the pit site.

WEDNESDAY 26th February
Kneesall Laxton 7 miles
A very dodgy weather forecast so numbers were reduced. Fortunately, the rain had stopped by 10 o’clock but obviously still muddy in parts. Carol repeated her countryside walk from Kneesall. They went through a wood and up to the trig point before walking across the fields to Laxton, where evidence of medieval strip farming can still be seen. The Laxton Pinfold is an ideal lunch stop as it has been fully furnished with seating and local information.

Stapleford Woods 9.1 miles
Izzie led a repeat of last year's lovely sunny walk in Stapleford Woods. The dodgy weather forecast put many off. It seems the old quarry site at the northern end is in the early stages of being transformed into a wildlife lake
