SUNDAY 16th JUNE
Chatsworth 8.4 miles
John led the walk, starting from Calton Lees car park they went through the grounds of Chatsworth House to Edensor. Edensor is the village the 4th Duke of Devonshire had moved because it spoiled his view!! It also has connections to President J.F.Kennedy. His sister is buried in the churchyard. There was then a steady climb of 150 metres through Calton Pastures before dropping back down into Rowsley. The ramble finished along the Derwent Valley Heritage Way back to Calton Lees.

WEDNESDAY 19th JUNE
Sconce and Farndon 5.5 miles
Veronika led a group of us from Sconce Park to Farndon, along the river and back via Marsh Lane. As always an enjoyable walk with lot of lovely chats and some great views across the river. I think the three dogs that accompanied us enjoyed it too.

Pinfolds and Churches 5 miles
The original route planned had to be shortened due to difficulties with some of the paths. Joyce led this pleasant walk around the countryside and through the villages of Flintham, Sibthorpe and Syerston. En route they passed three churches, two pinfolds and one dovecote. Seems like there was something of interest in Flintham Pinfold (see photo). The route followed some quiet country roads, old drovers' paths, and green lanes. It is nice to see the crops growing but what is that cairn in the field?
