WEDNESDAY 7th Febuary

Hartsholme and Boultham 5.9 miles

A walk from one Lincoln Park to the other visiting Catchwater Drain and the River Witham on route. The route circled the lake at Boultham before returning to the start at Hartsholme. Both Parks are good for nature boasting amongst others all 3 native Woodpeckers and over 60 species of trees!

Did you know during the second world war Boultham Park was part of the Dig for Victory campaign and was planted with sugar beet.

Clumber Park 6.4 miles

Sue Carne took the group on a leisurely walk around Clumber Lake passing over a ford (by a bridge), through Hardwick village and woodland to the Visitor Centre and returning on the other side via Clumber Bridge and the weir. A favourite venue in the wintertime when it is wet underfoot in open country.

SUNDAY 11th February

CROXTON KERRIAL BRANSTON 6.4 miles

Thanks to Tony for repeating this walk for the benefit of our Sunday Walkers. He reported:

16 members took part on this soggy, muddy walk. The morning started misty but improved towards the end of walk with some blue skies. Coffee/tea break was at Branston church and lunch stop on Lings Hill overlooking Branston, also with views of Croxton.
