SUNDAY 15th December
Nottingham 7.5 miles.
Dave led an interesting walk around Nottingham's green spaces which form a ribbon around the city. It was an energetic exploration of some of Nottingham's lesser known spaces and interesting buildings.

WEDNESDAY 18th December
Collingham South Scarle 5.5 miles
Colin led a repeat of a popular walk from Collingham to South Scarle along paths, field boundaries and tracks, taking in part of North Collingham on the return.

Foston 7.5 miles
Thanks to Steve for taking over the walk from Tony at short notice. Somewhat muddy in parts but pleasant, nevertheless. The route included a stop at the Churches of Foston and Marston. The church at Marston was open and had a display of Christmas trees. The opportunity was taken to admire the weir on the River Witham on the Marston Hall estate.

THURSDAY 26th December
Morton 7 miles
A misty moisty morning for a walk but just the thing after the excesses of Christmas Day. Roger led the small band out into the country from Southwell heading in the general direction of Morton. A quick coffee stop, with Christmas biscuits on a small bridge over the Halloughton Dumble before carrying on to Morton. On approaching the village we came upon a horde of people, apparently most of the village had turned out on their annual Boxing Day walk. A pleasant lunch stop in St Denis’s churchyard before heading home.

SUNDAY 29th December
Balderton Winter Walk 7.5 miles
Thanks to Dave for what he described as a post-Christmas dust down. Starting from opposite the Chesters Pub Car park on Pinfold Lane, Balderton the route was all on good paths. The first loop was 4 miles, first checking out the alpacas on the way to Balderton lake, before returning to Chesters Pub. The optional second loop of 3.5 miles circled Fernwood, viewing the large Gypsum mine en-route.
