Newark and Balderton 6.5 miles
Carol led this circular urban walk around Newark, so a mud free walk for a change! The route walk takes in the River Trent, the former railway line and Balderton Lake. The return route to Sconce Park goes through the cemetery, past the new Polish statue, then through the Market Place and past the castle along the other side of the river. The statue honouring the celebrated war hero, Gen Sikorski, was unveiled in 2023 in Newark Cemetery marking the 80th anniversary of his death.
